A doctor prescribed this for my husband stating this type magnesium is a muscle relaxer so may help with his blood pressure. But I had been experiencing really painful leg cramps that made it difficult to fall asleep. I started taking this twice a day as instructed and after a few days the painful cramps stopped. I have not been bothered by them since, just sweet restful sleep.
